Wedding Officiant
A ceremony that feels like you.
Your wedding day should quite literally feel like a dream come true. And in order to bring all of your hopes, wishes, ideas, and personality into one unforgettable moment, you deserve to work with a professional wedding officiant who can guide you, support you, and create a ceremony that reflects who you are as a couple.
I’ve spent years working with couples across Michigan, collaborating with them to design ceremonies that feel warm, personal, and grounded in the rituals and traditions that matter most to them. As an inclusive wedding celebrant, I believe my role is to walk beside you, helping you feel comfortable, confident, and truly seen as you commit your lives to one another.
When I create a custom ceremony, I spend time getting to know you in advance. I want to understand your relationship, hear your stories, learn your vibe, and help you shape a ceremony that feels deeply authentic. No scripts pulled from the internet. No cookie-cutter lines. Just something real, heartfelt, and uniquely yours.
What Your Wedding Ceremony Can Include
Spiritual or Cultural Traditions
If there are traditions that reflect your identity, your heritage, or your beliefs, I’m happy to weave them in. Whether you’re spiritual, secular, interfaith, or beautifully nontraditional, your ceremony can honor what matters to you.
Readings, Poems, or Songs
I love to start your ceremony with a short romantic reading, and if more thanone speaks to you, then we will weave it in I share suggestions or help you choose pieces that enhance the moment and connect you to each other in a meaningful way.
Wedding Rituals
Rituals are often the heartbeat of a ceremony, and there are so many ways to make them uniquely yours, but only if they matter to you. Never feel pressured to include a ritual just for the sake of having one. When a ritual has meaning, it adds depth, connection, and a moment you’ll remember for years.
Handfasting, oathing stones, love letters, tree planting, glass blending…the list goes on. And if you want something completely original, we can create it together… whether that’s tossing a football or making a sandwich right there in front of your guests.
Rituals are my favorite part of a ceremony, and I love weaving in moments that feel meaningful, playful, or symbolic of your relationship. If it tells your story, I’m all in.
Your ceremony should reflect your personalities, your humor, your tenderness, and the connection you’ve built. No two weddings should ever look or sound the same, because no two love stories are the same.
I offer one wedding package for $500.
I offer one full wedding ceremony package, designed to give you a ceremony that feels personal, intentional, and truly unforgettable.
This package includes:
• A fully customized ceremony written around your love story - never a sermon or cookie-cutter script
• A collaborative planning process with meaningful “homework” that helps you reflect on your relationship
• Unlimited revisions until everything feels just right. It’s your ceremony and I want you to love it.
• Travel within 30 minutes/miles of Ortonville, Michigan
• Follow-up after the wedding with a reminder to order your certified marriage license copy and then a gentle nudge to share a review of your favorite officiant
• A ceremony experience that feels genuine, truly you, and so personal that your family will ask me how long I’ve known you! Crafted with heart and completely your own
You’re both an essential part of the process, your stories, emotions, humor, personalities, and connection become the foundation of what I write.
Rehearsal Options
For many couples, rehearsals bring peace, confidence, and a sense of relief or calm. You know your wedding party best, so I offer two options:
In-Person Rehearsal - $200
I’ll walk everyone through entrances, positioning, pacing, and timing so the whole wedding party feels calm and ready.
Rehearsal Guideline PDF - $40
If I’m unavailable or you prefer to handle the rehearsal yourself, I’ll send a personalized, easy-to-follow PDF you can share with your wedding party.
Holidays
Ceremonies on national or religious holidays are not subject to any holiday fee. If I’m available, I’m happy to be there.
Booking & What Happens Next
Once we connect for a chemistry check and you decide that yes, we are most definitely the right fit, I’ll send your personalized proposal. Inside, you'll find everything you need to book your date:
Your Wedding Agreement
A clear outline of your ceremony details, location, chosen package, optional extras, and what you can expect from me. You can review and e-sign right inside your proposal, which then turns into a contract.
Your Invoice
A 40% non-refundable retainer is due when booking to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 21 days before your ceremony. You’re welcome to make payments anytime through your client portal.
The moment your Agreement is signed and your retainer is received, we are officially official and the fun begins.
Continuous Support (Yes, Really!)
Some officiants check in once and resurface on wedding day. That’s… not me.
I stay connected from the moment you book until long after the recessional.
You, and your vendor team can reach out anytime by email, text, or phone. I’m happy to chat with them, introduce myself and assure them that I really am a professional officiant!
Ceremony Walk-Through
About three weeks out, we’ll hop on a quick zoom call to go over every moment of your ceremony, then I’ll send that draft over for your approval.
No surprises, no guesswork - you’ll know exactly what to expect.
Wedding Day
I arrive 45 minutes early to check in, review your marriage license, and make any last-minute adjustments if needed.
I touch base with your photographer, videographer, and DJ so cues, transitions, and timing feel seamless.
After the “I Do”
I take care of the legal part by filing your marriage license with the correct County Clerk.
On your one-week anniversary, you’ll receive a follow-up email with next steps and a reminder about ordering your certified copies
Wedding Ceremony FAQs
Do you marry LGBTQIA+ couples?
With my whole heart - yes. Love is love, and all identities, orientations, and expressions are celebrated and welcomed.
Do we get to see the ceremony ahead of time?
Absolutely. You’ll receive the full draft, can request edits, and together we’ll polish your ceremony until it feels perfect.
Can you help us write our vows?
Yes! Writing your own vows is always more meaningful than repeating after me. They’re emotional, personal, and full of the words that matter most to the two of you, and they always make the ceremony feel that much more special. And if you need help organizing your thoughts, I’m happy to help you out.
Can we include cultural or spiritual elements?
Of course. Your ceremony can be secular, spiritual, interfaith, or somewhere in between.
Do you travel?
Yes! Travel within 30 minutes/miles is included, and anything beyond that will require a small travel fee. For weddings three or more hours away, I offer a travel package that includes the ceremony, rehearsal, lodging, and mileage.
And if you’re planning a destination wedding to Portgual, Scotland, Greece or anywhere your heart takes you, my passport is current and I’m absolutely up for the adventure. I happily travel to any state in the U.S. as well (and can obtain any special permissions needed to officiate).
What if we don’t want a rehearsal?
You can skip it or use my personalized rehearsal guideline PDF. Totally up to you.
Do you offer a simple, quick ceremony instead?
Yes! I offer elopements and legal license signings if you’re looking for something short and sweet.
