Elopement Officiant
Intimate Elopements
I absolutely love it when couples call and ask if I’ll do an elopement ceremony! There’s something so special about keeping it simple, intimate, and focused entirely on the two of you.
It’s so meaningful when it’s just the two of you, your two witnesses, and a few of your favorite people. It creates space for a ceremony that’s relaxed, and focused entirely on your connection.
Some couples know they don’t want to stand in front of a crowd. Others are drawn to the idea of a moment that feels personal, easy, and low-stress. Elopements are perfect for all of that.
Over the years, I’ve officiated elopements in bed and breakfasts, parks, beaches, backyards, restaurants, and sweet little venues throughout Holly, Fenton, Oxford, Clarkston and Waterford. No matter where we meet, the goal is the same, a ceremony that feels authentically you.
What’s Included in an Elopement Ceremony
While I call this offering a “templated script,” I’ll be honest… I can never resist personalizing it. Even in shorter ceremonies, I weave in little details I learn about you during our consultation. Every couple deserves something heartfelt.
Here’s what you can expect:
A No Obligation Consultation
We’ll talk through the style of ceremony you want, secular or lightly religious, plus any personal touches you’d like.
Vows and Readings
You’re welcome to write your own vows, or choose from my vow library.
If you have a meaningful reading, I’m happy to include it (or help you find the perfect one).
A Meaningful, Simple Script
With this package, you won’t see the full script beforehand, but trust me, it will be warm, thoughtful, and tailored to your moment.
Marriage License Guidance
I’ll send a follow-up email seven days after the ceremony with reminders and next steps for your marriage license. Easy and stress-free.
The Elopement Package is $250
This service is available within a 15-minute/mile radius of Ortonville, MI. Travel fees apply for locations beyond that.
A Courthouse Alternative for Elopements
Sometimes couples reach out to me at the very last minute, hoping for an elopement ceremony because the courthouse is booked, closed, or simply not the experience they want. I love being that courthouse alternative, a wedding officiant who can step in quickly and create something simple, personal, and heartfelt. Whether you’re looking for an elopement officiant, an officiant for a tiny ceremony with just your witnesses, or someone who can meet you where you are and make your marriage legal with warmth and intention, I’m here to help your moment feel easy and meaningful from start to finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can we bring?
Elopements are intentionally small, usually the two of you, your two witnesses, and a handful of guests. If you’re thinking of inviting a few more people, just let me know and we’ll make sure this package still feels right.
Can we personalize the ceremony?
Absolutely. Even though this is a shorter, streamlined script, I always add small personal touches based on what I learn about you.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes! Writing your own vows is always more meaningful than repeating after me. They’re emotional, personal, and full of the words that matter most to the two of you, and they always make the ceremony feel that much more special.
Can you include something spiritual or lightly religious?
If you’d like. Your ceremony can be secular, spiritual, or lightly faith-based.
How long does an elopement ceremony last?
Usually around 10-12 minutes, depending on what you include.
What happens with the marriage license?
You’ll bring your license to the ceremony, I’ll sign it afterward, and I’ll send a follow-up reminder email with next steps so nothing gets missed.
Where do you officiate elopements?
Anywhere within 15 miles of Ortonville without having to add a travel fee.
How early should we book?
Elopements often happen on short notice, but reaching out sooner makes scheduling easier.
